I’m not going to buy a Sony. Just no. Horrible experiences with their devices and especially the customer service that does not really exist.

vs

no one trusts any longer on sony, all those years only lies, repetitive problems and high price-none of them corrected to this date

Winter is coming! Might come in handy

There’s no option of having the Xperia 1 Mk4. While I definitely welcome the larger 5,000mAh battery capacity and native 120fps video recording support across all three rear cameras, I’m not so sure about the telephoto camera. If the 5 Mk4 got the same continuous variable zoom periscope telephoto camera as the 1 Mk4, then it’s an instant buy for me. But since it doesn’t have one, I’m not sure about buying it. If I don’t see the need to record native 120fps all the time, I may as well save some cash and just buy last year’s 5 Mk3.

Is that why Xiaomi avoided 8 gen 1 on their 12s ultra?

Great phone which ticks most if not all the boxes. Having said that Sony have three fatal errors.

Firstly the price it’s ridiculously high maybe it should have come in around £799 max.

Secondly the thermal issues this phone will overheat in minutes as the components are crammed in a compact body with next to little heat management.

Lastly they should have used the SD 8+ Gen 1 as that would have solved the thermal issues and justify the somewhat higher price tag.

If Asus can get the ZenFone 9 with a SD 8+ Gen 1 out for £700 depending on configuration why couldn’t Sony have done the same?

K1A, 3 hours agoYeah it’s a really great phone, a compact great phone actually. The market is competiti… moreExactly, Sony isn’t Apple. While Apple makes their products well thought out and balanced, Sony always missed something important, that’s why they are constantly falling more and more down.

Anonymous, 2 hours agoiPhone SE is better. Or the iPhone miniLOL what? It doesn’t even have full hd screen. You can only the iPhone compare to something like Galaxy S03 Gold or Redmi 11.

NOT

I truly miss the variable zoom telephoto camera, which should really make a comeback in the 5 V, but the one that actually drives me away from it is the chipset, so no, not this year.

ps Given the 1 IV uses the 8 Gen 1, it has already been certain that the 5 IV would only use the same chipset. Only the successor of the Xperia Pro-I (if any) may differ

The slender profile makes it eadier to hold and if you use it portrait oriented more, you would love it. Not everything these review websites say are true.

I don’t think I’ll buy until Sony ditch the 21:9. This phone is quite a disappointment, poor performing overheating old chipset and mediocre cameras that are actually a downgrade over last years model. Styling wise it looks cheap compared to the III, people will think it’s the 10 IV! Plus no charger or even CABLE really is a joke.

Own 5 II, it looks almost identical and has 3x optical zoom, doesn’t overheat. For me, the price rise is not justified and will probably wait for 5 V with potential replacement.

VS

Big fail on Sony’s part. Sure, it can take some good photos but you can practically get the same quality these days for almost half the price! Not to mention, recent Xperias have this fantastic *feature* of overheating as soon as you start taking 4K video. Sometimes, the camera won’t even start if you’re out on a hot day lmao.

Give me the Mk V with the SD 8 Gen 2 and I’d gladly buy it.
