Ahead of Saints Row’s upcoming launch, fans can check out the file size of the game and prepare for it, especially on PS4 and PS5.
Volition and Deep Silver’s new take on the Saints will be here very soon, with the Saints Row reboot scheduled to release on August 23. It’s tough saying goodbye to the old Saints like the former Boss, Johnny Gat, and so on, but Saints Row 4 really left the developer no choice.
Now, Saints Row takes place in Santo Ileso, and players will be part of a group of friends (Eli, Neenah, and Kevin) before they form the Saints. Events unfold, the Saints are born, rival gangs are challenged, and the city of Santo Ileso is changed forever. Ahead of its launch too, fans also now know how big to expect Saints Row‘s file size to be.
According to PlayStation Game Size, a reliable Twitter account that monitors files on PSN’s backend, Saints Row‘s PS4 version is 60.3 GBs and the PS5 version is 53.5 GB. Of course, this doesn’t include information on how big it’ll be for PC or Xbox users, but fans will likely find it in the same ballpark. After all, while it’s not impossible, it is rare that one platform is MUCH higher than its competitors.
That’s fairly sizable for a game, but it’s not as big as other games either. Some fans may want to go ahead and delete a game or two, as pre-loading will be available on August 21. Fans of the franchise who’ve perhaps not followed it closely can also check out the latest Saints Row trailer HERE, as this overview gives fans a closer look at the story, the new characters, the new gangs, some of the new mechanics, and a few hints of gameplay. It’s not exactly a hype trailer, but then again, it does a pretty good job at building hype for the upcoming release.
After all, although it’s a bit early for it to be a “fall” game, it is kicking off the fall/holiday season. This is usually one of the busiest times of the year, with October and November usually standing above the rest, but August, September, and December have gotten some attention in recent years too. It still remains to be seen how many games actually hit their dates/windows this year, as anything can happen as proven by the recent delay of Hogwarts Legacy.
Saints Row releases on August 23 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
