Ada Hegerberg scores hat-trick on her return for Norway after five-year absence

It only took 21 minutes for the Lyon star to reopen her account with the national team, before she scored her second goal just two minutes later. Hegerberg She completed a hat-trick an hour later, with Frieda Manum and Céline Bézier Ildhusoy also on the scoresheet.

Erleta Mimiti scored the only goal for Kosovo in the match.

Hegerberg last played for Norway at Euro 2017 – where the famous Norwegians were knocked out of the group stage – before declaring that she would no longer represent her country.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner said her decision was made out of frustration with the way women’s football has been treated at home and led to her missing the 2019 World Cup in France.

Hegerberg’s return is certainly timely for Norway, who hope the presence of their star striker, widely regarded as one of the most clinical finishers in the women’s game, will lead to glory at this summer’s European Championships.

The 26-year-old now scores an impressive 41 goals in 67 appearances for the national team, as Norway top Group F after six World Cup qualifiers.
